Upsells

Suggest related packages at checkout to grow average order value.

Upsells are package suggestions shown to a customer at checkout based on what's already in their basket. Add them strategically to increase average order value without being pushy.

Create an upsell

  1. Go to Upsells and click New upsell.
  2. Pick the trigger packages — these are the items that, when added to a basket, cause the upsell to fire.
  3. Pick the suggested packages — what to recommend.
  4. Optionally set a discount that only applies if the customer adds the suggested package within this basket.
  5. Save.

Display

The checkout page renders matching upsells in a "You might also like" rail. Customers can add suggestions with one click; they're added to the basket and the totals update live.

Best practices

  • Suggest cheaper add-ons to higher-priced packages (a $2 cosmetic for someone buying a $50 rank).
  • Limit upsells per page to 2-3 — more than that is noise.
  • Use the discount sparingly — too steep and customers wait for the upsell instead of buying directly.
